The program focuses largely on practical experience, offering students the opportunity to employ their skill sets in Delaware State’s Early Childhood Lab School and in several public schools throughout the area. Faculty members serve as mentors and teach students how to promote childhood learning and development, establish relationships with family and community members and provide ongoing oversight with regards to curriculum development. Per graduation requirements, students are required to complete 60 hours of field experience, complete four practicums in community education settings and perform a semester of student teaching.
