Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies with a Post-Baccalaureate Program in Early Childhood Education Teacher Licensure

Accepting Fall applications until May 15th yearly, the Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies at UNR offers a Post-Baccalaureate Licensure Track for Early Childhood Education as one of the CAEP accredited education degree programs in Nevada. After the four-year HDFS major, students take 29 extra credits to learn the fundamentals of curriculum and instruction for teaching children below third grade. Expect face-to-face courses like early mathematics, emergent literacy, child socialization, childhood development, and learning assessment. Eight credits of practicum are required at the on-campus Early Learning Center and nearby schools, such as Desert Heights Elementary, Lemmon Valley Elementary, and Caughlin Preschool.
