Master of Education in Educational Leadership
This program is one of the accredited educational leadership degree programs in Arizona, and it requires 30 credit hours. The program is offered online where courses are each held for six weeks, or the program can also be completed on campus during the evening hours. The program is intended for individuals who are seeking leadership roles in public or private schools that do not require licensure as a principal. Students in the program learn about education law, strategic leadership, education finance, how to shape a school’s culture, how to develop instructional leaders, how to strengthen program curriculum as well as becoming knowledgeable in ways to improve teacher performance and in implementing professional development.

Northern Arizona University
Extended Campuses
The mission of Extended Campuses is to provide students with an affordable education from a respected university regardless of where students are located. About one-third of the student population of Northern Arizona University is a part of Extended Campuses through more than 80 degree programs that are offered exclusively online and the programs that are offered at over 30 campus locations in Arizona. Exclusively online students receive tuition discounts, a reduction of fees, exclusive academic advising conducted online as a well as 24-hour information technology (IT) support during the academic year.
Master of Educational Leadership (M.Ed.)
This accredited educational leadership degree program in Arizona is intended for individuals who desire roles in educational leadership that do not require certification by a district. Students are required to complete 30 units of graduate courses which include a number of electives that allow for students to obtain knowledge in their specific area of interest. An internship must be completed as well as a project that involves their selected area of interest. Students learn to apply organizational theory, develop instructional programs, assess a school system’s financial status in order to implement effective strategies, create a vision of learning that encourages student success for all students, collaborate with families and communities, and develop policies for a school.
