Missouri’s Educational Leadership Degree Programs
Educational leadership degree programs provide graduate students with the expertise and practical skills they will need for leaderships positions in educational facilities. MBU Online offers training and instruction in a wide array of fields for people who are seeking bachelor or graduate degrees. M.S. in Higher Education Leadership
The Master of Science in Higher Education Leadership degree program offered by MBU Online is a 30 credit hour program that full-time students can complete in around 18 months. School of Education
Saint Louis University’s School of Education offers top-quality programs in six academic areas: undergraduate, higher education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, special education, and educational foundations. Within the area of educational leadership, students can choose to earn a master’s degree, a specialist degree, or a doctoral degree in educational leadership. All educational leadership degree programs offer a concentration in Catholic education, and to gain admission into the program of their choice, students will need to submit a statement of purpose, a current resume, and three professional letters of recommendation.
Educational Leadership, Doctor of Education
The Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership degree program offered by Saint Louis University’s School of Education is perfect for individuals who wish to become top-level executives in the field of education. To be eligible for the program, students must have earned a master’s degree in educational leadership or a similar field. The program’s curriculum includes a site-based internship, various research projects, 36-47 credit hours of coursework, a doctoral project, an oral examination, and a comprehensive written exam. Some of the courses required to complete the program include Advanced School Law, Ethics of Educational Leadership, School Business Administration, and Special Education Administration.
Educational Leadership, Master of Arts

This is a rigorous program that requires completion of 12 credit hours of dissertation research, a dissertation, written and oral examinations, and 24-33 credit hours of program-related coursework. University of Missouri at Kansas City
School of Education
The School of Education at the University of Missouri at Kansas City consists of three divisions: the Division of Counseling and Educational Psychology, the Division of Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies, and the Division of Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations. Within the Division of Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations, students will find several great programs including master’s degree programs in K-12 or higher education administration, an educational specialist degree program in educational administration, and doctoral degree programs in higher education administration or educational leadership.
Ph.D. in Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations
The Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Leadership, Policy and Foundations program is managed by the UMKC’s School of Education and implemented by the School of Graduate Studies. Students who choose to enroll in this program can choose one of five co-disciplines: sociology, political science, history, public affairs and administration, or curriculum and instruction. The program also offers three areas of specialization: foundations of education, higher education administration, and K-12 administration. Program requirements include 12 hours of research-related coursework, a dissertation, and a minimum of 21-24 credit hours of coursework related to the student’s chosen area of specialization.
