Graduate Studies
The Department of Graduate Studies at Keene State University currently offers three exceptional master degree programs in the following areas: education, history and archives, and safety and occupational health. The Master of Education program offers four areas in which students can choose to specialize, and they are special education, school counseling, educational leadership, and curriculum and instruction. While the safety and occupational health program is offered fully online, the other two programs require a combination of on-campus and online participation.
Educational Leadership (M.Ed.)
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree program provided by Keene State University is geared towards students who are looking to obtain principal certification in New Hampshire. Full-time students can typically complete this 36 credit hour program in about two or three years (depending on whether or not they choose to attend classes during the summer semesters). Program requirements include the completion of two separate internships, a capstone project, and several career-related courses including Educational Research Design, Curriculum Theory and Development, School Law, and Contemporary Issues and Effective Schools.

Plymouth State University
The Department of Educational Leadership, Learning, and Curriculum
Within Plymouth State University’s Department of Educational Leadership, Learning, and Curriculum, prospective students will find dozens of great programs leading to masters and doctorate degrees. There are also many different disciplines represented in the department’s programs including curriculum and instruction, special education, education technology, educational leadership, instructional design, and higher
education. Graduate certificates are available as well in such areas as leadership and learning, library media specialist, and behavioral interventions and support.
Master of Education in Educational Leadership
The Master of Education in Educational Leadership degree program offered by Plymouth State University prepares students for a broad range of leadership positions in all levels of education. Persons who would like to enroll in this program must submit a personal statement of interest, an updated resume, and three professional letters of recommendation. While some courses in this program are offered online, most of them require students to attend on campus. Samples of the courses required for this degree include Legal Issues in Policy Making, Collaborative Leadership, Ethical Leadership and Decision-Making, and Leaders as Professional Developers.
