Educational Administration Online M.Ed.
The online Master of Education in Educational Administration + PK-12 Principal Endorsement track prepares students to pursue advanced positions such as a principal or supervisors of special education. Students take one online eight-week class at a time, finishing two classes every semester, resulting in the completion of the program in two years. The program requires the completion of 37 total credits. The courses include creating a culture for learning, law, politics and the principal, operations management, school, families and the community, school, families and the community internship, curriculum and assessment of student learning, data and school improvement, data and school improvement internship, instructional leadership, ethics, supervision and evaluation, ethics, supervision and evaluation internship, social legal and ethical issues in special education, and social legal and ethical issues in special education internship. Students must also complete a professional portfolio course.

The School of Education at St. Ambrose University offers programs to prepare qualified, compassionate, and knowledgeable classroom teachers. In align with the Catholic values of St. Ambrose University, the School of Education prepares ethical teachers who possess the competence and skills in current educational theory and practice to effectively meet the needs of learners in diverse educational settings. The programs enable students to acquire the general skills needed to modify and establish the learning settings of the future. Graduates of the education programs are prepared for licensure in the state of Iowa. The School of Education offers four undergraduate programs and two graduate programs in education.
Master of Educational Administration
The Master of Educational Administration is intended for full-time teachers seeking to continue their education to pursue advanced administration positions. The program includes skills and theory-to-practice associations, leadership abilities and clinical and field experiences. The program requires the completion of 36 credit hours, which includes clinical experiences and a two-semester internship. Clinical and internship experiences feature 400 hours of logged activities. The program features a cohort model and classes are presented in classrooms and through a synchronous online model. The required courses include introduction to school administration, visioning and school administration: the school as a professional learning community, legal and ethical foundations of educational leadership, educational research, leadership in curriculum: teaching, learning and instructional assessment, leadership and curriculum: instructional assessment and the professional learning community, current issues: addressing students with special needs, professional administration and professional development, sustaining the professional learning community through school and community relations, elementary/secondary school principalship, supervision of instruction and the learning environment, masters research project, and supervised internship field experience.
