Since 2010, the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership at Manhattanville has produced 40+ principals, superintendents, and college deans passionate about improving learning policy at P-20 teaching enterprises. Directed by Dr. Susan Iverson, an OCPA Cultural Diversity Award recipient, the 59-credit, cohort-based program offers an optional Higher Education Leadership Concentration. Doctoral transfers with up to 39 qualifying credits can enter the accelerated Executive Ed.D. track. Costing $935 per credit, the CAEP-approved curriculum spans seminars from Community Relations to Facilitating Organizational Change and Self Assessment. The 36-credit, CAEP-approved plan schedules courses at Dobbs Ferry, Bronx, Manhattan, and Yorktown Heights locations conveniently after 4:00PM. Fulfilling prerequisites with minimum “C” grades, passing Praxis marks, and two years of classroom experience is mandated. Addressed topics include Legal Aspects of Schools, Functions of Human Capital, and Government Policy Issues in Education. In addition to two internships, many Mercy M.S. majors engage in the Master Teacher Fellows Program and Center for STEM Education.
