The Master of Education in Educational Administration with Principal Specialization is intended for working professionals seeking to gain a deep understanding of the educational system to make a difference and pursue leadership positions that promote excellence for students, staff and schools. The program prepares K-12 certified professionals to lead elementary or secondary institutions. The program requires the completion of 46 credit hours, including core courses from the College of Education and principal certificate courses. The principal courses include: Leadership for Social Justice, Team Building and Organizational Development, School Law, Policy and Finance, Teaching, Learning and Data Use, Individual Work Planning to Ensure Quality Leadership Development, Pro-Seminar, Instructional Leadership, and Participatory Action Research. Students must also complete extensive field experiences through internships. Like the program administrator program, students progress in a cohort model. The program leads to a Washington State principal certificate.
