Happy Hooligans is a great website for kindergarten teachers on the hunt for fun activities to do with their students. Run by a teacher who just uses the name Jackie, it includes steps on how to do those activities and photos of the finished product. If Jackie uses a template, she’ll include a template on the site that a teacher can download and print. Jackie also shows how teachers and their students can have fun together. Many of the activities she posts are fun but will also teach at the same time. One of her more popular activities shows kids how to make butter, which teaches them how a liquid can become a solid.
Highlights for Kids
Highlights for Kids is the official website of the magazine of the same name. The magazine itself started more than 60 years ago and included simple activities for younger kids. Teachers will find some of those same activities on the online site. Some of the activities included arts and crafts projects that kids can do and games that ask them to find two objects that match. Teachers will find projects that they can use in the classroom and activities that they can send home with their students. Parents will also find some projects and activities they can do at home with their kids.
Crayola for Educators
Crayola makes markers, crayons and even construction paper. The company also has a website called Crayola for Educators that is suitable for any kindergarten teacher. According to Scholastic, this is one of the best teaching websites around. Kindergarten teachers will find lesson plans that they can use each day in art classes and activities that are suitable for other types of classes. Though most of the projects require Crayola products, teachers can use comparable products from other companies. The lessons and activities cover projects suitable for all age groups and all skill levels.
