Students who attend San Diego State University may take classes in San Diego, enroll in online classes, or enroll at one of the school’s branch campuses. Students will enroll in education degree programs within the College of Education on campus or take classes through the San Diego State University World Campus for online classes.
For education programs, the university offers undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees, doctoral programs, credential options, and certificates. Undergraduate majors include a liberal studies major and a child development major, and students may also enroll in the university’s ITEP integrated bachelor’s & teaching credential program, which is a combined four-year option that awards a bachelor’s degree and a teaching credential.
Minors available in education at San Diego State University include those in child development, cultural proficiency, counseling and social change, and leadership development. About San Diego State University
San Diego State University was established in 1897 as San Diego Normal School and would eventually become a state college in the 1920s. The university’s motto is “Leadership Starts Here,” and the university also has status as a space-grant institution. The official colors are black and scarlet, and the sports teams at the university are nicknamed the Aztecs in their NCAA Division I games.

Applications to San Diego State University begin with the submission of the official application.
