The University of Nebraska Kearney offers a plethora of education programs in several delivery formats.
The Bachelor of Science in Education ( B.S. Ed.) in Communication Disorders is a 120-credit-hour program that prepares students for entry-level jobs or for graduate school. The Master of Science in Education (M.S. Ed.) in Speech-Language Pathology is a full-time, five-semester program that is taught in state-of-the-art facilities and prepares students for teaching certificates, licensure, and certification by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. The program contains 47 credit hours.
The Early Childhood Inclusive offerings include a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Early Childhood Inclusive. Graduates of this program are prepared to teach infant-toddler ages through third-grade students. It contains 120 credit-hours. The Early Childhood Inclusive Certification is an 80-to-83 credit-hour program for those who have a bachelor’s degree in education. The Early Childhood Inclusive Additional Endorsement program contains 50-to-50 hours. Students must have a bachelor’s degree and hold teacher certification to take the program.
The Counseling and School Psychology program results in an M.S.Ed. and contains 72 credit-hours. It is taught in a blended format which means some of the material is presented in a classroom, and some is online. The M.S.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling contains 60 credit-hours and is also presented in a blended format. There is a Master of Science in Education, School Counseling degree program that is available in a teaching and in a non-teacher track. The teaching track contains 43 credit-hours, while those students in the non-teaching track must take an additional 12 hours. The M.S. Ed. In Higher Education Student Affairs is a fully-online customizable program. There is also a Graduate Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Counseling that contains 12 credit-hours and is completely online.
Not all education and teaching degrees are offered completely online, but these are: B.A. in Education, ECI Endorsement, M.A.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction which is available in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Reading and Special Education, English as a Second Language, Instructional Effectiveness, Transitional Certification, S.T.E.M., Montessori-Early Childhood, Montessori-Elementary I and School Librarian concentrations. Online programs also include Instructional Teaching, M.S.Ed., M.S. Ed. In School Principalship, PK-8 or 7-12, Supervisor Special Education M.S.Ed., and Science-Math Education, M.S.Ed.

About The University of Nebraska Kearney
The university was founded in 1905 as the Nebraska State Normal School Kearney. The first year it was an all-female institution. In 1921 it became the Nebraska State Teachers College, and in 1963 it was dubbed the Kearney State College. The institution became a university in 1991. The school has an undergraduate student body of 4,843. It is ranked by the US News and World Report as # 53 of Regional Universities-Midwest. Most classes at the school have fewer than 20 students. The student-to-faculty ratio is 14:1.

University of Nebraska Kearney Application Requirements
Students interested in applying to the University of Nebraska Kearney as first-time freshmen should complete the online application and submit the non-refundable application fee of $45. They may self-report their high school grades and their SAT/ACT scores. Upon acceptance, students must request their official transcripts and scores. Students who have taken college courses should request a transcript of those grades from the schools where they were earned.
Students whose programs or courses are online, and who plan to never take on-campus courses, apply through that special form and send the non-refundable fee of $45 along with their official high school transcripts and transcripts of any college-level work.
Graduate students submit their online applications and fees, along with the official transcripts of their undergraduate work to the university. These may be submitted electronically or mailed to the school. Individual programs will dictate what additional documentation is required, and their website should be consulted to determine what is needed.
Tuition and Financial Aid
The estimated cost of attendance for undergraduate students is $22,324. That figure assumes a per-credit-hour charge of $174.50 plus additional per-credit-hour fees and fees charged once a semester but does not include books and supplies and other miscellaneous costs. Graduate students pay an average of $245.50 per-credit-hour in tuition and another $52.25 per-credit-hour in fees. Online classes cost $302 per-credit-hour plus additional fees.
