The School of Education at the University of North Carolina Greensboro offers a Bachelor of Science in Special Education and a dual major in both special education and elementary education. About the University of North Carolina Greensboro
The University of North Carolina Greensboro is a large public university that is part of the University of North Carolina (UNC) system. Established in 1891 as the State Normal and Industrial School, it became the State Normal and Industrial College near the turn of the century. As enrollment dropped in the days following World War II, the college became the North Carolina College for Women and shifted its focus to the education of women. This continued after it became the Woman’s College of the University of North Carolina. It retained that name through the early 1960s before adopting the University of North Carolina Greensboro name.
